Abstract
A robotic catheter system includes a drive mechanism comprising a drive which interacts with a catheter device to cause the catheter device to move along its axis. An encoder assembly detects the motion of the catheter device by a magnetic interaction with the catheter device.
Claims13
A system for driving a guidewire or catheter device, the system comprising:
- at least one drive mechanism which interacts with a guidewire or catheter device to cause the guidewire or catheter device to move along its axis;
- and
- at least one encoder assembly which detects the motion of the guidewire or catheter device by a magnetic interaction with the guidewire or catheter device.
A system for driving a guidewire or catheter device, the system comprising:
- a housing;
- at least one drive mechanism disposed within the housing and which interacts with a guidewire or catheter device to cause the guidewire or catheter device to move along its axis, the drive mechanism configured to have magnetic interaction with the guidewire or catheter device to increase traction.
