An ingestible composition comprising:
- an ingestible component;
- an edible adhesive associated with the ingestible component, wherein the edible adhesive comprises:
- a cellulose ether,
- a tackifier and
- a plasticizer;
- and
- a highly-swellable polymeric film contacting the edible adhesive, wherein the highly-swellable polymeric film rapidly swells without disintegrating upon contact with an aqueous medium.

- an ingestible composition comprising:
- an ingestible component;
- an edible adhesive associated with the ingestible component, wherein the edible adhesive comprises a cellulose ether, a tackifier and a plasticizer;

- a highly-swellable polymeric film contacting the edible adhesive, wherein the highly-swellable polymeric film rapidly swells without disintegrating upon contact with an aqueous medium;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive a communication associated with the ingestible component.
