Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and device for illuminating and at the same time purifying or disinfecting products such as air, flowers, food, vegetables, meat, poultry or fish. The method comprises the use of IR emitting LED elements.
Claims12
A method for reducing number of microorganism in or on a product selected from cut-flowers, food, vegetables, meat, poultry, or fish, said method comprising the steps of:
- a) providing a device comprising one or more LED elements, and a power for the LED elements, wherein one or more LED elements emit IR light of a wavelength within a range of 930 to 960 nm;
- and
- b) illuminating the product with the emitted wavelengths.
