Abstract
An Internet telephony system (ITS) comprising an enclosure, an interface to a packet switched computer network; a communications processor, configured to implement a voice over Internet Protocol communication, to execute at least a client portion of a telephony control application supporting at least a coordinated delivery of data presented to the user through a user interface and a conversation using the voice over Internet Protocol communication; and to execute a web browser; and at least one manual control input.
Claims20
An Internet telephony system, comprising:
- an enclosure;
- an interface to a packet switched computer network;
- a communications processor, configured to implement a voice over Internet Protocol communication, to execute at least a client portion of a telephony control application supporting at least a coordinated delivery of data presented to the user through a user interface and a conversation using the voice over Internet Protocol communication;
- and to execute a web browser;
- and
- at least one manual control input.
An Internet telephony method, comprising:
- interfacing to a packet switched computer network;
- implementing a voice over Internet Protocol communication, a client portion of a telephony control application supporting at least a coordinated delivery of data presented to the user through a user interface and a conversation using the voice over Internet Protocol communication, and a web browser with an automated processor within an enclosure;
- and
- receiving at least one manual control input.
An Internet telephone device, comprising:
- an enclosure;
- an interface to a packet switched computer network;
- an automated processor configured to execute a client application supporting voice over Internet protocol communications with a telephone server and web communications with a web server over the packet switched computer network interface, wherein the web communications and voice over Internet protocol communications are automatically coordinated and controlled by a common applet;
- and
- at least one user control input.
