## Abstract

Fibrous structures that exhibit a pore volume distribution such that at least 25% and/or at least 43% of the total pore volume present in the fibrous structures exists in pores of radii of from 91 μm to 140 μm, and to methods for making such fibrous structures are provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for making a fibrous wherein the method comprises the step of combining a plurality of filaments to form a fibrous structure that exhibits a pore volume distribution such that at least 43% of the total pore volume present in the fibrous structure exists in pores of radii of from 91 μm to 140 μm.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the fibrous structure exhibits a pore volume distribution such that at least 45% of the total pore volume present in the fibrous structure exists in pores of radii of from 91 μm to 140 μm.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the step of combining a plurality of filaments further comprises combining a plurality of solid additives with the filaments.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method according to claim 3 wherein at least one of the solid additives comprises a fiber.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method according to claim 4 wherein the fiber comprises a wood pulp fiber.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The method according to claim 5 wherein the wood pulp fiber is selected from the group consisting of: Southern Softwood Kraft pulp fibers, Northern Softwood Kraft pulp fibers, Eucalyptus pulp fibers, Acacia pulp fibers.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the plurality of filaments comprises a thermoplastic polymer.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method according to claim 7 wherein the thermoplastic polymer comprises a polyolefin.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method according to claim 8 wherein the polyolefin is selected from the group consisting of: polypropylene, polyethylene, and mixtures thereof.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method according to claim 9 wherein the polyolefin comprises polypropylene.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The fibrous structure according to claim 7 wherein the thermoplastic polymer is selected from the group consisting of: polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, polylactic acid, polyhydroxyalkanoate, polyvinyl alcohol, polycaprolactone and mixtures thereof.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the plurality of filaments comprises a natural polymer.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12 wherein the natural polymer is selected from the group consisting of: starch, starch derivatives, cellulose, cellulose derivatives, hemicellulose, hemicellulose derivatives and mixtures thereof.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the method further comprises the step of calendering the fibrous structure.

### Claim 15 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the method further comprises the step of depositing the filaments onto a patterned belt that creates a non-random, repeating pattern of microregions.

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the method further comprises the step of depositing a second layer of filaments onto a surface of the fibrous structure.

### Claim 17 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the fibrous structure comprises at least a bi-modal pore volume distribution.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method according to claim 17 wherein at least 2% of the total pore volume present in the fibrous structure exists in pores of radii of less than about 100 μm.

### Claim 19 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1 wherein the fibrous structure exhibits a VFS of at least 5 g/g.
