A cosmetic composition containing (A) particular acylproline or a salt thereof, and (B) particular hydroxamic acid derivative, particular acetophenone derivative or diol compound. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A cosmetic composition, comprising: (A) at least one acylproline represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof: wherein R1—CO— is an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 2 to 23 carbon atoms; and (B) at least one component selected from the group consisting of: (a) compound represented by formula (II) or a salt thereof: wherein R2 is an alkyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, an alkynyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, or an alkoxy group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms; and (b) a compound represented by formula (III) or a salt thereof: wherein R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen, a hydroxy group, or —OCH3. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein in (A) R1—CO— is an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 4 to 18 carbon atoms. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (A) said acylproline represented by formula (I) is decanoylproline. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein in (B) R2 is an alkyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (B) is a compound represented by formula (II) which is octanohydroxamic acid. ### Claim 6 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (B) is a compound represented by formula (III) and is ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, further comprising: (C) at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms. ### Claim 8 (depends on 7) The composition according to claim 7, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a 1,2-diol compound, a 1,3-diol compound, and dipropyleneglycol. ### Claim 9 (depends on 7) The composition according to claim 7, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of 1,2-pentanediol, 3-methyl-1,3-butanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, 1,3-butyleneglycol, 1,2-propanediol, 1,3-propanediol, caprylylglycol, glyceryl monocaprate, glyceryl monocaprylate, and dipropyleneglycol. ### Claim 10 (depends on 7) The composition according to claim 7, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of hexylglycerol and cyclohexylglycerol. ### Claim 11 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (A) said at least one acylproline represented by formula (I) is present in said composition in an amount of 0.001 to 5 wt %, based on the total weight of said composition. ### Claim 12 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (B) is a compound represented by formula (II) or a salt thereof and is present in said composition in an amount of 0.001 to 1 wt %, based on the total weight of said composition. ### Claim 13 (depends on 1) The composition according to claim 1, wherein (B) is a compound represented by formula (III) or a salt thereof and is present in said composition is 0.005 to 5 wt %, based on the total weight of said composition. ### Claim 14 (depends on 7) The composition according to claim 7, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is present in said composition in an amount of 0.01 to 15 wt %, based on the total weight of said composition. ### Claim 15 A cosmetic composition, comprising: (A) at least one acylproline represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof: wherein R1—CO— is an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 2 to 23 carbon atoms; and (C) at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The composition according to claim 15, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of hexylglycerol and cyclohexylglycerol. ### Claim 17 (depends on 16) The composition according to claim 16, wherein said one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of hexylglycerol and cyclohexylglycerol is present in said composition in an amount of 0.01 to 4 wt %, based on the total weight of said composition. ### Claim 18 A method of preserving a cosmetic, comprising adding to a cosmetic: (A) at least one acylproline represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof: wherein R1—CO— is an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 2 to 23 carbon atoms; and (B) at least one component selected from the group consisting of: (a) a compound represented by formula (II) or a salt thereof: wherein R2 is an alkyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, an alkynyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, or an alkoxy group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms; and (b) a compound represented by formula (III) or a salt thereof: wherein R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen, a hydroxy group, or —OCH3. ### Claim 19 (depends on 18) The method according to claim 18, further comprising adding: (C) at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms. ### Claim 20 (depends on 19) The method according to claim 19, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of hexylglycerol and cyclohexylglycerol. ### Claim 21 A method of preserving a cosmetic, comprising adding to a cosmetic: (A) at least one acylproline represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof: wherein R1—CO— is an acyl group derived from a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 2 to 23 carbon atoms; and (C) at least one dial compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms. ### Claim 22 (depends on 21) The method according to claim 21, wherein (C) said at least one diol compound having 2 to 12 carbon atoms is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of hexylglycerol and cyclohexylglycerol.
