Method for Producing Aprotic Solutions that Contain Zinc Bromide and Lithium Bromide

A method for producing an aprotic solution containing zinc bromide and lithium bromide, the method comprising carrying out a one-pot reaction from starting materials to produce a product solution,

• wherein water formed in the reaction is removed azeotropically, and
• wherein the product solution is obtained with a residual water content>2500 ppm.

A method for producing an aprotic solution containing zinc bromine and lithium bromine, the method comprising

• mixing aqueous solutions of zinc bromide and lithium bromide in a stoichiometric ratio, and
• adding an aprotic solvent thereto in such a volume to azeotropically remove water which is present and wherein a product solution is obtained with a residual water content>2500 ppm.
