## Abstract

The invention relates to a stent (12) to be positioned in the bifurcation/branching (14) of a blood vessel (16), wherein the stent (12) is composed of a plurality of meshes (10) and has a distal (18) and a proximal end (20), characterized in that the stent is provided with a retaining element (22) that passes through oppositely arranged meshes (10) at the proximal end (20) of the stent (12).

## Claims

### Claim 1

Stent to be positioned in the bifurcation/branching (14) of a blood vessel (16), wherein the stent (12) is composed of a plurality of meshes (10) and has a distal (18) and a proximal end (20) characterized in that the stent is provided with a removable retaining element with said retaining element (22) being passed through oppositely arranged meshes (10) at the proximal end (20) of the stent (12).

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the retaining element (22) is connected with a guidewire.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the retaining element (22) can be removed with the guidewire.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the retaining element (22) consists of wire.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

Stent according to claim 4, characterized in that the retaining element (22) consists of a shape-memory material, preferably of Nitinol.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the retaining element (22) is a guidewire, said guidewire being passed at its distal end (22) from the outside through two oppositely arranged meshes (10) situated at the proximal end (20) of the stent (12).

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the retaining element (22) is of T-shape configuration, wherein the arms (28) of said fork-like configuration being passed through oppositely arranged meshes (10) at the proximal end (20) of the stent (12).

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

Stent according to claim 7, characterized in that at the proximal end (20) of the stent (12) the retaining element (22) is introduced into said stent (12).

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

Stent according to claim 1, characterized in that the stent (12) and the retaining element (20) are enclosed within a retractable tube (26) in such a manner that the free end or ends of the retaining element (22) are enfolded in the tube and are capable of spreading out when the tube (26) is withdrawn.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

Balloon-expandable stent according to claim 1.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

Kit consisting of a catheter and a balloon-expandable stent according to claim 10 as well as a guidewire connected with the retaining element of the stent.
