## Abstract

A scapholunate stabilisation implant includes a central part having an elastic deformation capacity enabling the traction movements of the implant, and two end parts having an elastic deformation capacity enabling the torsional movements of the implant, the end parts being provided with at least one hole through which the fixing screw is passed, the central part and the end parts being connected by rods that can withstand the torsional deformations of the implant.

## Claims

### Claim 1

Scapholunate stabilization implant, including a central part (1), a first end part (2a) and a second end part (2b), the first and second end parts (2a, 2b) being provided each with at least one hole (3) for the passage of fastening screws, in which the central part and said first and second end parts are connected respectively by a first and a second torsion bar (4a, 4b) and in which the central part (1) of the implant includes at least one central bar (6a, 6b) and lateral bars (7a, 7b) connected by a plurality of cross beams (5).

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

Stabilization implant according to claim 1, characterized in that the central part includes a first and a second central bar (6a, 6b) and lateral bars (7a, 7b) each of the lateral bars (7a, 7b) being connected, by a plurality of cross beams, respectively to the first and the second central bar.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

Scapholunate stabilization implant according to claim 2, characterized in that the beams (5) each present a first end connected to one of the first and second central bars (6a, 6b), a second end connected to one of the first and second lateral bars (7a, 7b) and a central portion, the beams having a decreasing section of their first and second end, in the direction of their central portion.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1, 2, 3)

Scapholunate stabilization implant according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the central part (1) presents, in its middle, a transversal spacing (8) separating the first and second central bars (6a, 6b) and delimited by the lateral bars (7a, 7b).

### Claim 5 (depends on 1, 2, 3, 4)

Scapholunate stabilization implant according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the end parts (2a, 2b) present a general triangular shape and each end part of the scapholunate stabilization implant is provided with two through-holes (3) for screws.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Implant according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the end parts (2a, 2b) have the shape of an asymmetric arrow the fins (9a, 9b) of which feature the through-holes (3) for fastening screws, and their central rods which enable said ends (2a, 2b) to be connected to the central part (1) of the implant constitute the torsion bars (4a, 4b) of said implant.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Implant according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it features, on at least one of its end parts (2a, 2b) a positioning lug (10) or two diametrically opposed positioning lugs (10), said lug(s) being provided with a hole (11) for the passage of a temporary stabilization pin, this or these positioning lug(s) being placed in proximity of the through-holes (3) for the fastening screws.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

Implant according to claim 7, characterized in that the positioning lugs (10) are divisible so that when the implant has been fastened on the patient's bones by means of the fastening screws, these positioning lugs, now no longer useful, can be removed.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

Scapholunate stabilization implant according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that it is made of a biocompatible material presenting the necessary robustness and elasticity.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

Scapholunate stabilization implant according to any of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the central part (1) of the implant is made of a titanium alloy, and the end parts (2a, 2b) of said implant are made of polymer, such as Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), the torsion bars connecting the central part to the end parts being thus executed in a titanium alloy encapsulated in PEEK.
