Sample transfer device and sample processing system

A specimen processing system, comprising:

• a preprocessing system which performs preprocessing on a specimen contained in a specimen container;
• a plurality of analysis systems which performs analysis processing on the specimen, in the specimen container, subjected to the preprocessing;
• a conveyance path which conveys a first carrier mounted with the specimen container between the preprocessing system and the plurality of analysis systems;
• and
• a plurality of specimen container transfer devices respectively connected to the plurality of analysis systems, wherein
• each of the specimen container transfer devices, comprising:
• a first conveyance path which includes a first internal conveyance path and a second internal conveyance path, the first internal conveyance path conveying the first carrier to the specimen container transfer position for transferring the specimen container from the first carrier to the second carrier, the second internal conveyance path conveying the first carrier to the specimen container transfer position via a distance longer than the first internal conveyance path,
• a second conveyance path which conveys the second carrier to the analysis system;
• and
• a specimen chuck mechanism which transfers the specimen container between the first carrier and the second carrier, the specimen processing system comprising;
• a transfer control part which performs control so as to convey the first carrier on the second internal conveyance path to the other analysis system via the conveyance path if the analysis system connected to the specimen container transfer device is in a state unstable for receiving the specimen container.
