Abstract
A wastewater separation system for separating waste from water includes an inlet, a hydrocyclone, a decanter, and a recirculating means. The hydrocyclone receives a first amount of wastewater from the inlet and centrifugally processes the wastewater in order to remove at least some of the waste from the wastewater in order to expel treated water and a second amount of wastewater. The treated water exits the system. The decanter is coupled to the hydrocyclone for accepting the second amount of wastewater in order to separate the second amount of wastewater into a collection of waste and a third amount of wastewater. The recirculating means recirculates the third amount of wastewater back to the hydrocyclone for reprocessing.
Claims18
A wastewater separation system for separating waste from water comprises:
- an inlet;
- a hydrocyclone receiving a first amount of wastewater from the inlet and centrifugally processing the wastewater in order to remove at least some of the waste from the wastewater in order to expel treated water through a first exit and to expel a second amount of wastewater through a second exit, with the treated water exiting the system through the first exit, wherein the second amount of wastewater is one or more of recycled or collected for disposal.
A wastewater separation system for separating waste from water comprises:
- an inlet;
- a collection tank coupled to the inlet for collecting wastewater;
- a hydrocyclone for receiving collected wastewater from the collection tank and for processing the wastewater, with the hydrocyclone taking a first amount of wastewater from the collection tank and centrifugally processing the wastewater in order to remove at least some of the waste from the wastewater in order to expel treated water and a second amount of wastewater therefrom, with the treated water exiting the system;
- a decanter coupled to the hydrocyclone having an inlet and an exit, with the inlet for accepting the second amount of wastewater in order to separate the second amount of wastewater into a collection of waste and a third amount of wastewater, with the collection of waste being removed from the decanter and with the third amount of wastewater exiting the decanter through the exit of the decanter;
- a recirculating means for recirculating the third amount of wastewater from the exit of the decanter back to the hydrocyclone for reprocessing.
A hydrocyclone for use in a system for treating wastewater, the hydrocyclone comprising:
- an inflow chamber having an input opening and an outlet;
- an inlet having an input opening and an outlet and a passageway that extends from an upper extent of the inlet to a lower extent of the inlet;
- and a
- a funnel having an upper opening and a lower opening, with the inlet being coupled to the upper opening of the funnel,
- wherein the inflow chamber surrounds the inlet and the upper end of the funnel,
- the inflow chamber input opening is configured to receive a fluid, the input chamber outlet extends from an upper end of the inlet through the input chamber and out through a wall of the inflow chamber, the input opening of the inlet is in communication with an interior of the inflow chamber and the outlet of the inlet is in communication with the funnel, with the funnel having an exit at a lower end thereof.
