Abstract
The present invention is generally related to a device and method for sanitizing a medical instrument with ozone, in particular the invention relates to a system, method and a device for sanitizing a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device. The device has an ozone compartment, an ozone operating system and one or more ozone distribution lines that distribute ozone to a continuous positive airway pressure device. The device may further include a heater adapter unit to connect heating systems in CPAP devices while distributing ozone to sanitize the CPAP device in accordance with the present invention.
Claims11
A connector unit for a medical instrument comprising:
- a first end connected to a proximal end of a passageway with a gas environment in the medical instrument;
- a second end connected to an enclosed space;
- an outer wall between the first end and the second end;
- and,
- a distribution line for distributing ozone gas into the inner cavity of the medical instrument.
A system comprising:
- a connector unit and an ozone device, wherein the connector unit connects the ozone device having an ozone operating system to a medical device having an inner cavity, the connector unit comprising:
- a first end connected to a proximal end of the inner cavity of the medical device;
- a second end connected with a gas-tight closure;
- an outer wall between the first end and the second end;
- and,
- a distribution line connected to the ozone operation system, the distribution line traversing the connector unit and distributing ozone into the inner cavity of the medical instrument.
A system comprising:
- a continuous positive airway pressure connector unit and an ozone device, wherein the continuous positive airway pressure connector unit connects the ozone device having an ozone operating system to a continuous positive airway pressure device having a hose and a water reservoir, the continuous positive airway pressure connector unit comprising:
- a first end connected to the hose;
- a second end connected to the water reservoir;
- an outer wall between the first end and the second end;
- and,
- a distribution line connected to the ozone operating system, the distribution line traversing the wall with a free end immersed in the water reservoir.
