Tamper Resistant Hot Pot

A hot pot comprising:

• a body configured to hold a liquid for the hot pot;
• a heating element support extending across a bottom of he body, the heating element support supporting a heating element;
• a base having a side wall and a bottom panel extending across the side wall, the side wall and bottom panel defining a hollow interior for the base, the side wall in part supporting the heating element support, the base having an inner wall radially inward of the side wall, the inner wall having a first portion extending through the base interior generally adjacent to the side wall and a second portion extending radially inward from the first portion, the base having spaced apart radial walls extending between the inner wall first and second portions, each of the inner wall first and second portions and spaced apart radial walls projecting from the bottom panel, the inner wall first and second portions and spaced apart radial walls defining a power cord knot compartment with an interior, the power cord knot compartment being disposed in the base radially inward of the side wall and the inner wall first portion, the power cord knot compartment having a cover spaced from the bottom panel, the bottom panel of the base having projections projecting from the bottom panel into the power cord knot compartment interior, the power cord knot compartment cover being mounted to the projections;
• and
• a power cord for the hot pot extending through the side wall through a strain relief, and extending into the power cord knot compartment, the power cord being secured to the base in the power cord knot compartment around the projections in the interior of the power cord knot compartment, with leads of the power cord extending from the power cord knot compartment to the heating element.
