## Abstract

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for displaying information in various display regions within wearable display devices in a manner that enhances user experience. The wearable display devices may include a flexible display region that may be capable of operating in a wrinkled state. In one aspect, a wearable display device includes one or more sensors configured to provide information regarding the position of one or more display regions on the wearable display device. In some aspects, the device includes a processor that is capable of selecting where to display image data on the device. In some aspects, the selection of an appropriate display region is based at least in part on a privacy level associated with the image data and/or the positioning of the wearable device in space with respect to the user.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A wearable electronic device comprising:
a display, including:
a first display region and a second display region;
at least one sensor configured to provide information regarding the position of the first and second display regions; and
a processor capable of selecting one of the first and second display regions to display first image data, wherein the selection of a display region is based at least in part on the position of the first and second display regions and a privacy level associated with the first image data.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The wearable electronic device of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the first display region faces a first direction and at least a portion of the second display region faces a second direction that is opposite of the first direction.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The wearable electronic device of claim 1, wherein the processor is also capable of determining a privacy level associated with the first image data.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The wearable electronic device of claim 3, wherein the privacy level is based at least in part on one of content of the image data, source of the image data, and user selection.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The wearable electronic device of claim 1, wherein the display is capable of operating in a curved state.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The wearable electronic device of claim 1, wherein the display is capable of operating in a wrinkled state.

### Claim 7

A wearable electronic device comprising:
a display capable of being operated in a curved state, the display including:
a first display region, and
a second display region facing a different direction than the first display region when the display is in the curved state; and
a processor capable of:
determining a privacy level of first image data to be displayed on the display; and
selecting one of the first and second display regions to display the image data based at least in part on the privacy level of the image data.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The wearable electronic device of claim 7, wherein the wearable display device is configured to be worn on a user's arm, and wherein the display is capable of being operated while curved around a user's arm.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The wearable electronic device of claim 8, wherein the first display region is configured to face a user's body.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The wearable electronic device of claim 9, wherein the second display region is configured to face away from a user's body.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The wearable electronic device of claim 7, further comprising at least one sensor configured to determine the orientation of the first and second display regions relative to the user.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The wearable electronic device of claim 11, wherein the display is flexible and the boundaries of the first and second display regions are determined at least on part on the orientation and deformation of the flexible display.

### Claim 13 (depends on 7)

The wearable electronic device of claim 7, wherein the processor is capable of comparing the privacy level of the first image data with the privacy level of second image data.

### Claim 14

A method of displaying data on a wearable display comprising:
designating a first display region and a second display region on the wearable display based at least in part on how the wearable display is oriented in space;
determining a privacy level of image data to be displayed on the wearable display; and
displaying the image data on the first display region or the second display depending on the privacy level of the image data.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, further comprising determining how the wearable display is oriented in space.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, further comprising adjusting the boundaries of the first and second display regions based at least on part on the orientation of the wearable display.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein the wearable display is a flexible display and the method further comprises adjusting the boundaries of the first and second display regions based at least on part on the deformation of the flexible display.

### Claim 18 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, designating a first display region and a second display region on the wearable display based at least in part on how the wearable display is oriented in space includes designating a first display region that faces a user's body and designating a second display region that faces away from the user's body.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

The method of claim 18, further comprising displaying first image data on the first display region and displaying second image data on the second display region.

### Claim 20 (depends on 19)
