Abstract
A chronometer to monitor the passage of time prior to a projected date of birth of a baby and to recognize and celebrate the birth of the baby. The chronometer includes a generally hollow egg-shaped housing including a bottom, a top, a hinge mechanism, and a latching mechanism. The hinge mechanism rotatably connects the top to the bottom so the top can open and close. The latching mechanism releasably connects the top to the bottom. The chronometer also includes a replica of a young chicken housed in the chronometer, and includes a display to indicate the length of time until the projected birth date of the baby.
Claims3
A chronometer to monitor the passage of time prior to a projected date of birth of a baby and to recognize and celebrate the birth of the baby, comprising
- (a) a generally hollow egg-shaped housing including
- (i) a bottom,
- (ii) a top,
- (iii) a hinge mechanism rotatably connecting said top to said bottom such that said top moves between at least two operative positions,
- an open position, and
- a closed position,
- (iv) a latching mechanism releasably connecting said top to said bottom;
- (b) a replica of a young chicken mounted in said housing,
- (c) a microprocessor mounted in said housing and programmable
- (i) with the time remaining until the projected birth date of a baby, and
- (ii) to activate said latching mechanism on the projected birth date to permit said top to move from said closed position to said open position;
- (d) a display operatively associated with said microprocessor to indicate the length of time until the projected birth date of a baby.
A chronometer to monitor the passage of time prior to a projected date of birth of a baby and to recognize and celebrate the birth of the baby, comprising
- (a) a generally hollow egg-shaped housing including
- (i) a bottom,
- (ii) a top,
- (iii) a hinge mechanism rotatably connecting said top to said bottom such that said top moves between at least two operative positions,
- an open position, and
- a closed position;
- (b) a replica of a young chicken mounted in said housing,
- (c) a microprocessor mounted in said housing and programmable with the time remaining until the projected birth date of a baby;
- and
- (d) a display operatively associated with said microprocessor to reflect the length of time until the projected birth date of a baby.
A method to recognize and celebrate a future event, comprising the steps of
- (A) providing a chronometer to monitor the passage of time prior to the date of the future event, said chronometer comprising
- (1) a generally hollow housing including
- (a) a bottom,
- (b) a top,
- (c) a hinge mechanism rotatably connecting said top to said bottom such that said top moves between at least two operative positions,
- an open position, and
- a closed position;
- (2) an article mounted in said housing;
- (3) a microprocessor mounted in said housing and programmable with the time remaining until the projected birth date of the event;
- and
- (4) a display operatively associated with said microprocessor to indicate the length of time until the date of the event;
- (B) programming said microprocessor with the date of the event;
- and,
- (C) moving said top to said open position on or near the date of the event to reveal said article.
