Abstract
A method for detecting a relative position of a magnetic field source is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of detecting at least two magnetic field components of a magnetic field produced by a magnetic field source using a magnetic field sensor, determining a temperature effect compensation which compensates for a temperature effect on the magnetic field components, and establishing an output signal corresponding to the relative position of the magnetic field source based on a quotient of the magnetic field components, the temperature effect compensation, and an offset correction.

A method for detecting a relative position of a magnetic field source, comprising:
- detecting at least two magnetic field components of a magnetic field produced by a magnetic field source using a magnetic field sensor;
- determining a temperature effect compensation which compensates for a temperature effect on the magnetic field components;
- and
- establishing an output signal corresponding to the relative position of the magnetic field source based on a quotient of the magnetic field components, the temperature effect compensation, and an offset correction.
A displacement sensor, comprising:
- a magnetic field source producing a magnetic field;
- a magnetic field sensor detecting at least two magnetic field components;
- a temperature compensation unit determining a temperature effect compensation which compensates for a temperature effect on the magnetic field components;
- and
- an output signal unit establishing an output signal corresponding to a relative position of the magnetic field source, the output signal based on a quotient of the magnetic field components, the temperature effect compensation, and an offset correction.
