Shading display and sample

A display system for sampling a scaled-down sample of a covering of an architectural opening, the display system comprising:

• a storage container defining a chamber;
• and
• a display tool releasably secured within said chamber, said display tool comprising:
• a frame structure;
• a drive assembly operably coupled to said frame structure;
• and
• a shade material attached at least partially to said drive assembly, wherein operation of said drive assembly moves said shade material between a closed position and an open position within said frame structure.

A method of assembling a display tool, said method comprising:

• attaching a shade material to a drive assembly having an actuation element;
• and
• operably connecting at least a portion of the drive assembly within a frame structure;
• wherein the drive assembly moves the shade material between open and closed positions within an interior opening of the frame structure upon manual access and manual movement of the actuation element.
