A kit for adhering flanges to a roof comprising:
- a mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface;
- a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer;
- and
- a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.

A system comprising:
- a flange comprising a top surface and a bottom surface;
- a bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the bottom surface of the flange,
- a top mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the top surface of the flange,
- a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer;
- and
- a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.

An apparatus comprising:
- a flange comprising a flange top surface and a flange bottom surface, the flange bottom surface disposed in opposition to the flange top surface in spaced relationship therewith;
- an aperture defined through the flange from the flange top surface to the flange bottom surface;
- a bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the bottom surface of the flange,
- a top mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the top surface of the flange,
- a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer;
- and
- a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.
4 more elements
A method for installing a roof system comprising:
- aligning a flanged roof apparatus with a roof perforation;
- exposing a bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer by removing a bottom removable sealant layer;
- sealing the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer to a roof structure;
- confirming the formation of a bottom sealing relationship between the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer and the roof structure in abutting relationship therewith;
- exposing a top mastic asphalt concrete layer by removing a top removable sealant layer;
- sealing the top mastic asphalt concrete layer to shingles;
- and
- confirming the formation of a top sealing relationship between the top mastic asphalt concrete layer and the shingles in abutting relationship therewith.
