Water Filtering Device

A water filter configured to be attached to a water tap in a shower, comprising:

• a. a hollow housing, including,
• i. an inlet,
• ii. an outlet,
• iii. a first check valve regulating flow through said inlet, said first check valve configured to allow flow through said inlet into said hollow housing when said water tap is pressurized and to prevent flow from said hollow housing to said water tap when said water tap is unpressurized,
• iv. a first type of filter media contained within said hollow housing:
• b. a filter media chamber contained within said hollow housing and defining a segregated volume, within said hollow housing, including,
• i. a filter media chamber inlet,
• ii. a filter media chamber outlet, fluidly connected to said outlet of said hollow housing;
• iii. a second type of filter media contained within said filter media chamber, configured to filter water from said water tap passing through said filter media chamber;
• c. a second check valve regulating flow through said outlet in said hollow housing, said second cheek valve configured to allow flow through said outlet when said water tap is pressurized and to prevent flow through said outlet when said water tap is unpressurized;
• and
• d. said filter media chamber inlet being positioned above said filter media chamber and configured so that when said water tap is unpressurized said second type of filter media within said filter media chamber remains completely immersed in water.
