Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for controlling glycaemia in a mammalian in need thereof. The present invention relates to compositions and methods for the treatment of diabetes disease and related disorders. More specifically, the present invention relates to novel therapies or combinatorial therapies of diabetes and related disorders, based on compositions controlling the blood glucose level.
Claims24
A method for treating diabetes or a related disease selected from impaired glucose tolerance, impaired fasting glucose, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, postprandial hyperglycemia and overweight/obesity in a mammalian subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject an effective amount of (i) at least one compound selected from levosimendan, acamprosate, almitrine, azelastine, baclofen, carbetapentane, cinacalcet, dexbrompheniramine, diethylcarbamazine, D-mannose, mexiletine, nicergoline, tolfenamic acid, tolperisone, torasemide or triamterene, or salt(s) or sustained release formulation(s) thereof, in combination with (ii) metformin or salt(s) or sustained release formulation(s) thereof.
