Abstract
Systems and methods for creating and sharing tasks over one or more networks are disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method for managing tasks over one or more computer systems is disclosed. A task can be stored in a memory device of the one or more computer systems. An e-mail address can be assigned to the task. An e-mail message to the e-mail address can be received from a user. The e-mail message or content from the e-mail message can be associated with the task in the one or more computer systems.
Claims38
A computer-implemented method for managing tasks over one or more computer systems, the method comprising:
- storing a task in a memory device of the one or more computer systems;
- assigning an e-mail address to the task;
- receiving an e-mail message to the e-mail address from a user;
- and
- associating the e-mail message or content from the e-mail message with the task in the one or more computer systems.
A computer-implemented method for managing a plurality of computer objects over one or more computer systems, the method comprising:
- receiving a first e-mail message from a first user, the first e-mail message comprising a header that includes a first e-mail address, the first e-mail address assigned to the one or more computer systems and associated with a first type of computer object;
- creating a first computer object of the first type;
- storing content of the first computer object in one or more memory devices of the one or more computer systems;
- assigning a second e-mail address to the first computer object;
- receiving a second e-mail message to the second e-mail address from the first user or another user;
- and
- associating the second e-mail message or content from the second e-mail message with the first computer object in the one or more computer systems.
A system having one or more processors and configured for managing tasks, the system comprising:
- a task management module configured to run on the one or more processors and programmed to:
- store a task in a memory device of the system;
- assign an e-mail address to the task;
- receive an e-mail message to the e-mail address from a user;
- and
- associate the e-mail message or content from the e-mail message with the task in the system.
A system having one or more processors and configured for managing a plurality of computer objects, the system comprising:
- an object management module configured to run on the one or more processors and programmed to:
- receive a first e-mail message from a first user, the first e-mail message comprising a header that includes a first e-mail address, the first e-mail address assigned to the system and associated with a first type of computer object;
- create a first computer object of the first type;
- store content of the first computer object in one or more memory devices of the system;
- assign a second e-mail address to the first computer object;
- receive a second e-mail message to the second e-mail address from the first user or another user;
- and
- associate the second e-mail message or content from the second e-mail message with the first computer object in the system.
A computer-implemented method for organizing computer objects on a computer system, the method comprising:
- receiving an e-mail message addressed to the computer system;
- analyzing a header of the e-mail message;
- and
- deciding whether to create a new computer object or to associate the e-mail message with an existing computer object based on the analysis of the header.
