Abstract
A propelled lance provides a wounding non-lethal anti-opponent action by piercing an enemy's foot or other contacting body part with a lance penetrator. The lance penetrator lodges in the body and further penetration is optionally impeded by an integrated stop device. The lance penetrator optionally inserts an RFID, other identification, tracking, or other payload into the enemy. The lance penetrator provides anti-personnel, anti-vehicle and anti-robot action.

The method of an area denial device comprising,
- a. an enclosure with an opening,
- b. multiple enclosures electronically connected,
- c. a lance penetrator contained within each of the enclosures,
- d. the lance penetrator protruding from the enclosure opening,
- e. the enclosure environmentally sealed around the lance penetrator,
- f. lance penetrator propellant means within the lance penetrator,
- g. an outside object applying force to the lance penetrator,
- h. the lance penetrator depressed into the enclosure,
- i. the propellant initiating,
- j. the propellant propelling the lance penetrator through the enclosure opening,
- k. the lance penetrator impacting and penetrating the outside object,
- l. the lance penetrator embedded in the outside object.
