A connector for connecting a panel of a bridge platform or other scaffolding to an underlying cable for supporting the panel. First and second plates are hingedly joined. A member is attached to and extends from the first plate to a free end portion, wherein the member is adapted to be passed downwardly through a panel and cradle a cable passing below the panel then to be passed upwardly back through the opening then through an aperture in the second plate. A wedge is slidably receivable between ledges on the free end portion and the second plate for wedgedly retaining the member in the aperture. A member is attached to the second plate in a position such that it retains the wedge inseparable from the plates. The plates and wedge are inseparable from each other in each of latched and unlatched states. In another connector, the free end portion has a plurality of spaced grooves engageable by mating structure on the second plate for achieving the latched state. The mating structure comprises an elongate member in an inclined slot. The mating structure alternatively comprises a gear wheel for engaging the grooves and a pin for locking the gear wheel position, the pin being connected to one of the plates to be inseparable therefrom.
A connector for connecting and disconnecting of a panel to and from a supporting cable, the connector comprising first and second plates, a hinge structure including at least one hinge pin effecting a hinged joining of said plates, wherein said plates in a first hinged position are co-planar to overlie and at least partially cover an opening in the panel, a member attached to said first plate and extending therefrom and having a free end portion, wherein said member is adapted to be passed downwardly through the opening while said second plate is in a second hinged position relative to said first plate and to cradle a cable passing below the panel then to be passed upwardly back through the opening, the connector further comprising an aperture in said second plate for passing said free end portion through said aperture, a wedge slidably receivable between said free end portion and said second plate while said first and second plates are in said first hinged position for wedgedly retaining said member in said second plate aperture, and a member attached to said second plate in a position such that said member attached to said second plate retains said wedge inseparable from said first and second hingedly joined plates, whereby said first and second hingedly joined plates are connectable and disconnectable for forming, without a nut, between said first and second hingedly joined plates alternately a latched state for latching one to an other of said first and second hingedly joined plates for connecting a panel to a supporting cable and an unlatched state for unlatching said one from said other of said first and second hingedly joined plates for disconnecting a panel from a supporting cable, whereby said first and second hingedly joined plates and said wedge are inseparable from each other in each of said latched and unlatched states.
A connector for connecting and disconnecting of a panel to and from a supporting cable, the connector consisting essentially of a plurality of parts all of which are inseparable and arranged to effect connecting and disconnecting of a panel to and from a supporting cable, and the connector includes a hinge pin attaching one to an other of said inseparable parts, and wherein said one and said other of said inseparable parts are connectable and disconnectable for forming, without a nut, between said one and said other of said inseparable parts alternately a latched state for latching said one to said other of said inseparable parts and for preventing unlatching thereof for connecting a panel to a supporting cable and an unlatched state for unlatching said one from said other of said inseparable parts for disconnecting a panel from a supporting cable, wherein all of said plurality of parts are inseparable from each other in each of said latched and unlatched states, the connector further comprising a plurality of spaced grooves in a terminal end portion of said one of said inseparable parts, and structure connected to said other of said inseparable parts and adapted to lockingly mate with said grooves, wherein said mating structure comprises an elongate member sized to be receivable in said grooves, said elongate member positioned for movement in an inclined slot in a direction away from said terminal end portion as said terminal end portion is pushed whereby to effect settling of said elongate member lockingly in one of said grooves when said terminal end portion is released from being pushed.
A connector for connecting and disconnecting of a panel to and from a supporting cable, the connector consisting essentially of a plurality of parts all of which are inseparable and arranged to effect connecting and disconnecting of a panel to and from a supporting cable, and the connector includes a hinge pin attaching one to an other of said inseparable parts, and wherein said one and said other of said inseparable parts are connectable and disconnectable for forming, without a nut, between said one and said other of said inseparable parts alternately a latched state for latching said one to said other of said inseparable parts and for preventing unlatching thereof for connecting a panel to a supporting cable and an unlatched state for unlatching said one from said other of said inseparable parts for disconnecting a panel from a supporting cable, wherein all of said plurality of parts are inseparable from each other in each of said latched and unlatched states, the connector further comprising a plurality of spaced grooves in a terminal end portion of said one of said inseparable parts, and structure connected to said other of said inseparable parts and adapted to lockingly mate with said grooves, wherein said mating structure comprises a gear wheel having teeth sized to be receivable in said grooves and a pin for locking the gear wheel position, wherein said pin for locking is connected to one of said one and said other of said inseparable parts to be inseparable therefrom.
