Abstract
Disclosed is a synchronized adaptive infrastructure (SAIN) network. Switches, synchronized nodes, and persistent connections can be used. Also described are methods and apparatus for the following functions: disjoint partitioning; data aggregation and disaggregation; interfacing with packet-based networks; bandwidth management; use of control vectors for security, addressing, error control, routing, etc. Synchronized networks are disclosed which enable fast connection set up and release in a tiered hierarchy of circuit switched nodes. Methods of synchronizing and transforming data streams are disclosed, as well as overcoming Doppler, environmental, and frequency offset effects.

A network switch for converting explicitly addressed network data communications to implicitly addressed network data communications, the network switch comprising:
- an ingress port configured to:
- receive network data communications including a plurality of explicitly addressed packets, said plurality of packets having a destination address of a networked system;
- a controller configured to:
- form a connection domain including a plurality of connections;
- identify a connection from the plurality of connections based on a first connection identifier corresponding to a network endpoint along said connection;
- determine a size of a first data portion that is proportionally related to a bandwidth of said connection associated with the first connection identifier;
- allocate the first data portion of the network data communications into a first cellet comprising the first connection identifier;
- and
- generate a control vector that implicitly addresses the first cellet for transmission to the destination address;
- and
- an egress port configured to:
- transmit at least the first cellet via the identified connection according to said control vector to the destination address.
A method for converting explicitly addressed network data communications to implicitly addressed network data communications, the method comprising:
- receiving network data communications including a plurality of packets to be transmitted within a networked system;
- forming a connection domain including a plurality of connections;
- identifying a connection from the plurality of connections based on a first connection identifier;
- determining a size of a first data portion that is proportionally related to a bandwidth of the connection associated with a first connection identifier corresponding to a network endpoint along said connection;
- associating a portion of the network data communications into at least a first cellet comprising the first data portion and the first connection identifier;
- generating a control vector that implicitly addresses the first cellet;
- and
- transmit at least the first cellet via the identified connection according to said control vector to a destination port configured to receive implicitly addressed data within the networked system.
A system for converting explicitly addressed network data communications to implicitly addressed network data communications, the system comprising:
- a switch;
- a processor;
- and
- tangible, non-transitory computer storage that stores a program that when executed by the processor is configured to perform operations comprising:
- receive network data communications including a plurality of packets to be transmitted within a networked system;
- form a connection domain including a plurality of connections;
- identify a connection from the plurality of connections based on a first connection identifier;
- determine a size of a first data portion that is proportionally related to a bandwidth of the connection associated with a first connection identifier corresponding to a network endpoint along said connection;
- associate a portion of the network data communications into at least a first cellet comprising the first data portion and the first connection identifier;
- generate a control vector that implicitly addresses the first cellet;
- and
- transmit at least the first cellet via the identified connection according to said control vector to a destination port configured to receive implicitly addressed data within the networked system.
