Abstract
An optical amplifier includes: an optical amplifying fiber; and a pump light source that supplies pump light to the optical amplifying fiber, the pump light being used for parametrically amplifying signal light input to the optical amplifying fiber by using a non-linear optical effect of the optical amplifying fiber. The fluctuation of the zero-dispersion wavelength of the optical amplifying fiber in the longitudinal direction is within the limit of 0.5 nm/100 m.

An optical amplifier comprising:
- an optical amplifying fiber;
- and
- a pump light source that supplies pump light to the optical amplifying fiber, the pump light being used for parametrically amplifying signal light input to the optical amplifying fiber by using a non-linear optical effect of the optical amplifying fiber, wherein
- a fluctuation of a zero-dispersion wavelength of the optical amplifying fiber in a longitudinal direction is within a limit of 0.5 nm/100 m.

- an optical amplifying fiber;
- and
- a pump light source that supplies pump light to the optical amplifying fiber, the pump light being used for parametrically amplifying wavelength-multiplexed signal light input to the optical amplifying fiber by using a non-linear optical effect of the optical amplifying fiber, wherein
- a power difference between a power of the pump light and a total power of the wavelength-multiplexed signal light that are input to the optical amplifier is 24 dB or larger.
