Abstract
A device for producing a functional shaft and a functional shaft are provided in which a functional element which is provided with a pocket is inserted into a retaining element, a shaft is inserted into the pocket, and a force applied to the functional element while the shaft is being inserted into the pocket is measured.

A device for producing a functional shaft, comprising:
- at least two retaining elements, each of the at least two retaining elements being
- configured to hold a respective one of the at least two functional elements at a respective predetermined angular position, and
- located axially one after the other at a predetermined axial distance relative to each other;
- and
- a force measuring unit configured to measure a force applied to one of the two retaining elements and the respective one of the at least two functional elements during insertion of a shaft into the respective one of the at least two functional elements.

A functional shaft, comprising:
- a shaft;
- and
- at least two functional elements, each of the at least two functional elements having a pocket through which the shaft is disposed and being arranged on the shaft at a predetermined angular position relative to one another,
- wherein at least one of the at least two functional elements is located on the shaft in a manner to withstand relative motion between the inserted shaft and the respective functional element in response to an applied torque, the applied torque being determined from a force measured during functional shaft assembly by a force measuring unit.
