Abstract
A communication apparatus includes a conversion unit configured to convert data, an estimation unit configured to estimate a size after conversion of the data by the conversion unit before the conversion unit converts the data, and a notification unit configured to notify another communication apparatus of the size estimated by the estimation unit.
Claims14
A communication apparatus comprising:
- a conversion unit configured to convert data;
- a first estimation unit configured to estimate, before the conversion unit converts the data, a size of the data after being converted by the conversion unit;
- a notification unit configured to notify another communication apparatus of the size estimated by the first estimation unit;
- a transmission unit configured to transmit the data converted by the conversion unit to said another communication apparatus;
- and
- a control unit configured to control, according to a response to the notification by the notification unit, whether to transmit the data converted by the conversion unit to said another communication apparatus.
A method for controlling a communication apparatus, the method comprising:
- converting data;
- estimating, before the data is converted, a size of the data after being converted;
- notifying another communication apparatus of the estimated size;
- transmitting the converted data to said another communication apparatus;
- and
- controlling, according to a response to the notification, whether to transmit the converted data to said another communication apparatus.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for storing a program that causes a computer to perform a method for controlling a communication apparatus, the method comprising:
- converting data;
- estimating, before the data is converted, a size of the data after being converted;
- notifying another communication apparatus of the estimated size;
- transmitting the converted data to said another communication apparatus;
- and
- controlling, according to a response to the notification, whether to transmit the converted data to said another communication apparatus.
