Abstract
A mobile terminal includes a sub-device that is attached thereto or detached therefrom, to remotely control the operation and state of the terminal. The mobile terminal includes: a sub-device having an input/output unit and attached to or detached from the terminal; and a controller configured to receive a user input via a certain communication path from the sub-device when the sub-device is separated, and control elements and applications of the terminal according to the user input.
Claims20
A mobile terminal comprising:
- a main device being shaped to define a cavity accessible via an exposed slot;
- a sub-device capable for being removably coupled to the main device via the slot and the cavity;
- and
- a controller capable for determine whether the sub-device is decoupled to the main device and receiving a user input from the at least one sub-device for controlling the main device.
A method for controlling a mobile terminal comprising a main device and sub-device being removably coupled to the main device, the method comprising:
- establishing a specific communication path with the sub-device when the sub-device is in the detached configuration;
- determining whether the sub-device is decoupled to the main device:
- receiving a user input via the specific communication path;
- and
- controlling at least one function of the terminal according to the user input.
