System and method for interapplication communications

An apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a memory storing executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to perform the following operations:
• provide challenge data to cause a first executable program to encrypt a portion of a license agreement associated with a second executable program;
• obtain, from the first executable program, encrypted data and a digital signature applied to the encrypted data, the digital signature comprising information indicative of an acknowledgement of the license agreement;
• determine that at least a portion of the encrypted data corresponds to the license agreement portion;
• and
• access, in response to the determination and through the first executable program, one or more functions of the second executable program in accordance with the license agreement.

A method comprising the comprising the following steps performed by one or more processors:

• providing challenge data to cause a first executable program to encrypt a portion of a license agreement associated with a second executable program;
• obtaining, from the first executable program, encrypted data and a digital signature applied to the encrypted data, the digital signature comprising information indicative of an acknowledgement of the license agreement;
• determining that at least a portion of the encrypted data corresponds to the license agreement portion;
• and
• accessing, in response to the determination and through the first executable program, one or more functions of the second executable program in accordance with the license agreement.

A tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

• providing challenge data to cause a first executable program to encrypt a portion of a license agreement associated with a second executable program;
• obtaining, from the first executable program, encrypted data and a digital signature applied to the encrypted data, the digital signature comprising information indicative of an acknowledgement of the license agreement;
• determining that at least a portion of the encrypted data corresponds to the license agreement portion;
• and
• accessing, in response to the determination and through the first executable program, one or more functions of the second executable program in accordance with the license agreement.
