Abstract
A multiferroic transducer for an electrical stringed-instrument pickup comprising an upper layer and lower layer of magnetostrictive material and a middle layer of piezoelectric or ferroelectric material disposed between the upper layer and lower layer.
Claims20
A multiferroic transducer for an electrical stringed-instrument pickup, the transducer comprising:
- an upper layer and lower layer of magnetostrictive material;
- and
- a middle layer of piezoelectric or ferroelectric material disposed between the upper layer and lower layer.
An electrical stringed-instrument pickup, comprising:
- (a) a multiferroic transducer comprising:
- (i) an upper layer and lower layer of magnetostrictive material;
- and
- (ii) a middle layer of piezoelectric or ferroelectric material disposed between the upper layer and lower layer;
- (b) wherein the a multiferroic transducer is configured to be positioned in proximity to a string or tine of an electronic instrument for individualized string detection within the instrument .
