Abstract
Embodiments include a system for determining cardiovascular information for a patient. The system may include at least one computer system configured to receive patient-specific data regarding a geometry of the patient's heart, and create a three-dimensional model representing at least a portion of the patient's heart based on the patient-specific data. The at least one computer system may be further configured to create a physics-based model relating to a blood flow characteristic of the patient's heart and determine a fractional flow reserve within the patient's heart based on the three-dimensional model and the physics-based model.

A method of image analysis to produce a mammalian vascular state score, the method comprising:
- receiving vascular image data including:
- relative positions in one or more two-dimensional angiographic images of a plurality of vascular segments linked by branch points, and at least one lesion for which a respective lesion complexity includes a degree of stenosis;
- determining automatically a plurality of lesion complexity-related vascular metrics for each of a plurality of said vascular segments, based on at least one angiographic image of said received image data;
- determining said lesion complexity for use as an at least one subscore of a vascular state scoring tool, wherein the lesion complexity is based on said plurality of vascular metrics;
- and
- determining said vascular state score based on said at least one subscore.
A system for image analysis to automatically determine a vascular state score of lesion complexity, comprising:
- a subscore extractor functionally connectable to at least one two-dimensional angiographic vascular image data source, configured to:
- determine at least one vascular lesion complexity-related metric based on two-dimensional angiographic vascular image data received from said image data source, and determine at least one lesion complexity parameter based on said at least one metric;
- and
- a vascular state score determiner, configured to:
- receive a plurality of lesion complexity parameters from said subscore extractor, and compose said subscores into a vascular state score of lesion complexity.
