Abstract
A request to process a payment is received from a point of sale (POS) device. The request includes identify information corresponding to a device of a user that is used to pay for a purchase at the POS device. An authorization to process the request is received via the POS device. The request to process the payment is processed based on the receiving of the authorization.

A method comprising:
- receiving, at a mobile device, a funding request;
- generating, using a hardware processor of the mobile device, a scannable pattern using an authentication code generated in response to the funding request;
- and
- providing the scannable pattern to a point-of-sale (POS) device, the POS device to transmit the authentication code represented by the scannable pattern to an authentication provider with a funds adjustment request to process a payment.

A machine-readable storage medium having no transitory signals and storing instructions that when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a mobile device, a funding request;
- generating, using a hardware processor of the mobile device, a scannable pattern using an authentication code generated in response to the funding request;
- and
- providing the scannable pattern to a point-of-sale (POS) device, the POS device to transmit the authentication code represented by the scannable pattern to an authentication provider with a funds adjustment request to process a payment.
