Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of automatic conversion of sequential array-based programs to parallel MapReduce programs. In various examples, automatic conversion of sequential array-based programs to parallel MapReduce programs may be implemented in the form of systems, methods and/or algorithms.

A computer program product for automatic conversion of a sequential array-based program to a parallel program, the program code of the computer program product executable by at least one computer to perform a method comprising:
- obtaining an Array SSA representation of the sequential array-based program;
- transforming the Array SSA representation into a Lambda Calculus representation that includes a construct for representing loops;
- and
- replacing the loop construct with a plurality of operators to generate an executable parallel program.
A computer-implemented system for automatic conversion of a sequential array-based program to a parallel program, the system comprising:
- an obtaining element configured to obtain an Array SSA representation of the sequential array-based program;
- a transforming element configured to transform the Array SSA representation into a Lambda Calculus representation that includes a construct for representing loops;
- and
- a replacing element configured to replace the loop construct with a plurality of operators to generate an executable parallel program.
