Computer-Implemented System And Method For Attribute-Based Manufacturing Quality Control

A computer-implemented method for attribute-based manufacturing quality control, comprising the steps of:

• maintaining in a database a specification for manufacturing a part feature, the specification comprising a nominal;
• maintaining in the database one or more measurements for the feature on a plurality of parts manufactured in accordance with the specification, each of the measurements associated with one or more attributes, each of the attributes identifying at least one of a circumstance relating to how that measurement was made and how the feature was manufactured;
• receiving a user selection of one or more of the attributes;
• identifying each of the measurements that is associated with all of the selected attributes;
• calculating a score indicative of how close the identified measurements are to the nominal;
• and
• displaying the score,
• wherein the steps are performed on a suitably programmed computer.

A method according to claim 15, further comprising:

• identifying a number of the attributes with highest ones of the ranks and a number of attributes with lowest ones of the ranks;
• presenting the visual representations of the highest ranked attributes in a chart;
• and
• presenting the visual representations of the lowest ranked attributes in a chart visually proximate to the highest ranked attribute charts.
