Pipe inspecting apparatus and pipe inspecting method

A pipe inspecting apparatus comprising:

• a selection module configured to select a first ultrasonic transducer from a plurality of ultrasonic transducers attached to a pipe and to select a first optical fiber sensor from a plurality of optical fiber sensors which are separated from the ultrasonic transducers and attached to the pipe;
• a power supplying module configured to supply power to the first ultrasonic transducer to input an ultrasonic wave from the first ultrasonic transducer to the pipe and to supply the ultrasonic wave via the pipe to the first optical fiber sensor;
• and
• a light detection module configured to detect laser light transmitted through the first optical fiber sensor.

A pipe inspecting method comprising:

• selecting first and second ultrasonic optical probes from a plurality of ultrasonic optical probes attached to a pipe;
• supplying power to an ultrasonic transducer of the first ultrasonic optical probe to input an ultrasonic wave from the ultrasonic transducer to the pipe and to supply the ultrasonic wave via the pipe to an optical fiber sensor of the second ultrasonic optical probe;
• and
• detecting laser light transmitted through the optical fiber sensor of the second ultrasonic optical probe.
