Ladder Holder

A ladder holder for mounting a ladder in an upright orientation relative to a wall having an inner surface lying in a vertical plane, in which the ladder has two rails extending longitudinally and a plurality of rungs spanning laterally between the rails at uniform longitudinal intervals, the holder comprising:

• a mounting portion arranged for coupling in fixed relation to the wall in a mounted position;
• the mounting portion defining an upstanding plane for butting engagement with the inner surface of the wall where the upstanding plane is arranged to lie parallel to the vertical plane of the wall in the mounted position;
• a support portion supported fixedly on the mounting portion, the support portion having:
• a pair of slots on opposite lateral sides of the support portion that collectively define a rung-receiving slot arranged to receive a ladder rung in a working position of the ladder;
• a pair of ladder-supporting features on said opposite lateral sides of the support portion that are separate of the rung-receiving slot but cooperative therewith for mounting the ladder in the working position on the support portion at a prescribed angle relative to the mounting portion in the mounted position;
• the rung-receiving slot and the ladder-supporting features being generally located in a common plane at the prescribed angle so as to provide the mounting of the ladder at said prescribed angle;
• a storage slot independent of the rung-receiving slot and said ladder-supporting features that is arranged to receive a ladder rung in a storage position of the ladder where the ladder is suspended from the support portion in substantially vertical orientation;
• the storage slot being located outside the common plane;
• and the support portion is shaped in a manner not interfering with the ladder in the storage position.

A ladder holder for mounting a ladder in an upright orientation relative to a wall having an inner surface lying in a vertical plane and an opposite outer surface, in which the ladder has two rails extending longitudinally and a plurality of rungs spanning laterally between the rails at uniform longitudinal intervals, the holder comprising:

• a mounting portion arranged for coupling in fixed relation to the wall in a mounted position,
• a support portion supported fixedly on the mounting portion, the support portion having:
• an upper slot arranged to receive a first one of the rungs,
• a lower slot arranged to receive a second one of the rungs,
• the lower slot being positioned below the upper slot and further away from the vertical plane of the inner surface of the wall than the upper slot such that the support portion is arranged for mounting the ladder thereon at a fixed angle relative to the mounting portion in the mounted position;
• wherein the mounting portion has a front side portion having a wall engaging surface arranged to engage the inner surface of the wall in the mounted position and wherein the upper and lower slots each comprise an elongated slot and the elongated slots lie in a common plane at the fixed angle relative to the wall engaging surface;
• wherein the support portion further comprises a storage slot independent of the upper and lower slots arranged to receive any one of the rungs such that the support portion is arranged to suspend the ladder substantially vertically therefrom in a storage position and one of the upper and lower slots has an upper portion vertically aligned with the storage slot such that the upper portion is arranged to receive another one of the rungs in the storage position.
