A glucose production method is characterized in that glucose is produced from organisms that hold at least a disaccharide inside the body, which organisms utilize a cellulose source as food or for nutrients, particularly insects, crustaceans, and mushrooms.

A glucose production method characterized in that:
- glucose is produced from living matter that holds at least a disaccharide inside the body.
A method for producing glucose, comprising:
- providing an organism storing disaccharide;
- pulverizing the organism to obtain a fine organismic matter;
- enzymolytically decomposing the fine organismic matter to obtain crude glucose material;
- and
- purifying the crude glucose material to obtain a purified glucose material.
