Abstract
Liquid purification methods and apparatus are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a frame to define an interior space, the frame having an inner surface in contact with air of the interior space; a barrier positioned between a body of liquid and the interior space; and an absorber suspended from the frame to transfer liquid from the body of liquid into the interior space via an opening in the barrier.
Claims20
An apparatus, comprising:
- a frame to define an interior space, the frame having an inner surface in contact with air of the interior space;
- a bather positioned between a body of liquid and the interior space;
- and
- an absorber suspended from the frame to transfer liquid from the body of liquid into the interior space via an opening in the barrier.
1 more element
A method, comprising:
- positioning a first section of an absorber within an interior space of a structure, the interior space defined by a frame of the structure and a barrier positioned above a body of liquid, the structure to float on the body of liquid;
- positioning a second section of the absorber in the body of liquid below the bather to transfer liquid of the body of liquid to the first section of the absorber via capillary action;
- and
- collecting, in a reservoir, condensation formed on the frame from evaporation of the liquid.
1 more element
An apparatus, comprising:
- a dome-shaped frame;
- a reservoir defined in part by the dome-shaped frame, the reservoir to collect condensation forming on a first surface of the dome-shaped frame;
- an absorber suspended from the frame to transfer, via capillary action, liquid from a body of liquid into an interior space defined by the dome-shaped frame;
- and
- an insulator to prevent condensation from forming on a second surface of the body of liquid.
