Metallized multi-layer structure film for in-mold labels, printed in-mold labels formed from such film and methods of applying the printed labels to an article during the molding of the article

A multilayer, metallized, laminate film employed to form in-mold labels, said laminate film including first and second multilayer structures,

• said first multilayer structure including a polymer core layer and first and second outer polymer layers on opposed sides of the core layer, said first outer polymer layer being a top outer layer of said first multilayer structure and including a metal layer thereon, said metal layer being a surface layer of said first multilayer structure, said second outer polymer layer being a bottom polymer layer of said first multilayer structure and having an outer matte surface that is adapted, in the in-mold label formed from said laminate film, to engage and bond to a molded article;
• said second multilayer structure being a clear structure including a core layer and first and second outer polymer layers on opposed sides of the core layer, said first outer polymer layer being the top polymer layer of the second multilayer structure and the second outer polymer layer being the bottom polymer layer of the second multilayer structure, said first and second outer polymer layers providing outer surfaces of said second multilayer structure;
• an adhesive layer bonding the metal layer of said first multilayer structure to the top outer surface of said second multilayer structure providing a bonded interface free of any printed indicia.
