Abstract
A method for manufacturing a thermal modification kiln for timber includes making plate modules from steel plates (200) by forming edges (210, 220, 230, 240) of the plates with flaps (211, 213, 215, 221, 223, 225, 231, 233, 235, 241, 243, 245), which enable adjacent modules to be interconnected for constructing a kiln frame.

A method (100) for manufacturing a thermal timber modification kiln (300), the method comprises
- making (120) plate modules (202, 302) from steel plates (200),
- the modules comprise a panel section (204) and edges (210, 220, 230, 240),
- the edges comprise end and side sections (212, 222, 232, 242), first flaps (211, 221, 231, 241) between the panel and the sections, and overlays (214, 224, 234, 244), and,
- the first flaps between the panel and the sections are formed such that the sections are folded inwards in such a way that the folded sections present the first flaps at some angle with the panel,
- the method further comprises
- forming (120) second flaps (233, 243) between the sections and the overlays (234, 244) such that the overlays are folded outwards in such a way that the folded overlays are substantially parallel to the panel and present the second flaps at some angle with the sections, and
- the first and second flaps enable adjacent modules to be interconnected for constructing a kiln frame (350).
