Abstract
The invention relates to a connector/cap assembly comprising locking means and coupling means allowing the cap to be removed from the connector using only one hand and preferably without the cap coming into contact with the hand of the practitioner.
Claims34
A connector system comprising two connectors designed to connect two fluid lines, each connector being designed to be held by a user and comprising:
- a distal end intended to be connected to a connector,
- a proximal end connected to a fluid line,
- a fluid flow passage in fluid connection with said fluid line,
- physical connection means making it possible to maintain two connectors connected to each other;
- wherein the fluid flow passage is protected by a cap disposed at the distal end of the connector;
- wherein the connectors and/or the caps comprise locking means designed for firmly fixing the caps to the connectors at least temporarily;
- wherein the caps comprise coupling means adapted to couple the caps of said connectors to each other at least during deactivation of the locking means;
- wherein the caps prevent physical connection of the connectors while the caps are protecting the fluid flow passage.
5 more elements
A method of removing caps from connectors without manipulating said caps, said method comprising the following steps:
- a. holding the connectors by their body,
- b. bringing the two caps into contact,
