Abstract
The present invention provides for treating neurodegeneration caused by nerve compression syndrome or entrapment neuropathy comprising administering human acidic fibroblast growth factor (aFGF), fibrinogen, aprotinin and divalent calcium ions to a subject in need thereof.

A method for treating neurodegeneration caused by nerve compression syndrome or entrapment neuropathy comprising administering a human acidic fibroblast growth factor (aFGF) as the sole therapeutic agent to a subject in need thereof, wherein the human aFGF is mixed with fibrinogen, aprotinin and divalent calcium ions to form a fibrin glue mixture and then administered intrathecally or intramuscularly.
