A method of inhibiting osteoclastic activity in a subject in need thereof, comprising contacting the subject in need thereof with a compound of Formula I, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or hydrate thereof, in an amount and under conditions sufficient to inhibit osteoclastic activity in the subject:
- wherein:
- each R is independently H or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R1 is independently H, or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R2 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, or C(O)R;
- each R3 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR;
- each R4 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR.
A method of stimulating bone formation and inhibiting bone resorption in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject in need thereof, an effective amount of a compound of Formula I, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or hydrate thereof, in an amount and under conditions sufficient to stimulate bone formation and inhibit bone resorption:
- wherein:
- each R is independently H or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R1 is independently H, or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R2 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, or C(O)R;
- each R3 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR;
- each R4 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR.
A kit for inhibiting osteoclastic activity in a subject in need thereof comprising a compound of Formula I, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or hydrate thereof, and instructions for use:
- wherein:
- each R is independently H or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R1 is independently H, or optionally substituted alkyl;
- each R2 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, or C(O)R;
- each R3 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR;
- each R4 is independently H, optionally substituted alkyl, C(O)OR, or C(O)NRR.
