Abstract
In various embodiments, toric elements shape at least a portion of an outer shell of an implantable intraocular lens to counteract astigmatism aberrations.
Claims24
An implantable intraocular lens for counteracting an astigmatism aberration of a patient's eye, the lens comprising:
- an outer shell defining therewithin an internal space at least partially fillable with a first fluid;
- and
- a toric element disposed on or defined by the outer shell,
- wherein, when the outer shell is at least partially filled with the first fluid, the toric element shapes at least a portion of the outer shell to counteract the astigmatism aberration.
1 more element
A method for counteracting an astigmatism aberration of a patient's eye, the method comprising:
- implanting within the patient's eye an intraocular lens, the intraocular lens having an outer shell and a toric element disposed on or defined by the outer shell;
