Cervical cerclage assistance device

A medical device, comprising:

• a grasper configured to allow gripping and compression of a patient's cervix when disposed proximate a patient's cervix;
• an elongate catheter comprising a distal portion that is selectively releasably connectable to the grasper, the grasper is adapted to interact with at least a portion of a patient's cervix when deployed, and a flexible member that extends from a first end portion of the grasper, with a proximal end portion retained by the grasper and an opposite distal end portion extending away from the grasper to a distal tip,
• wherein the flexible member comprises a plurality of retention features that are spacingly disposed along a length of the flexible member between the distal tip and the proximal end portion and the grasper further comprises a second end portion, the second end portion includes a receiving structure that is arranged to interact with and retain a portion of the flexible member,
• wherein a distal tip of the catheter includes a hollow portion, and wherein when the catheter is connected to the grasper, a proximal portion of the grasper is disposed within the hollow portion.
