Systems and methods for signal classification

An apparatus, comprising:

• one or more processors in communication with the transceiver;
• at least one memory that stores computer-executable instructions;
• and
• at least one processor of the one or more processors configured to access the at least one memory, wherein the at least one processor of the one or more processors is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
• receive a signal transmission packet comprising a physical layer (PHY) preamble;
• identify within the PHY preamble, one or more SIG fields associated with a predetermined communication standard utilized to transmit the signal transmission packet, wherein at least one of the one or more SIG fields includes at least a length field indicating a length of the signal transmission packet;
• determine based at least in part on the length field, that the signal transmission packet is associated with the communication standard;
• and
• decode the signal transmission packet based at least in part on the determination that the signal transmission packet is associated with the predetermined communication standard.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a signal transmission packet comprising a physical layer (PHY) preamble, following a communication standard, from a second computing device;
• determining a first legacy signal (L-SIG) field included with the signal transmission packet;
• determining a second L-SIG field included with the signal transmission packet, wherein the second L-SIG is associated with the first L-SIG field;
• and
• processing the signal transmission packet based on determining the second L-SIG field is included with the signal transmission packet.
