Customizable model for throttling and prioritizing orders in a cloud environment

A method comprising:

• determining, by a computing system, for a service, whether a threshold resource capacity of the computing system is met;
• upon determining that the threshold resource capacity is not met, enabling one or more resources to be provisioned to enable the service;
• upon determining that the threshold resource capacity is met, delaying provisioning of the one or more resources to enable the service;
• and
• after the provisioning is delayed:
• determining, based on detecting a change in a resource capacity of the computing system, that the threshold resource capacity is not met;
• and
• permitting the one or more resources to be provisioned to enable the service.

A method comprising:

• determining, by a computing system, for a service, whether a threshold capacity of the computing system is met;
• upon determining that the threshold capacity is not met, enabling the service;
• upon determining that the threshold capacity is met, delaying the service;
• and
• after the service is delayed:
• determining, based on detecting a change in the computing system associated with the threshold capacity, that the threshold capacity is not met;
• and
• enabling the service.
