Abstract
A method can include receiving points representative of at least a portion of a surface of a multi-dimensional geobody; partitioning the points; computing smooth compactly supported basis functions based at least in part on differential surface areas associated with the partitioning of the points; approximating an indicator function for a body based at least in part on the computed basis functions; and, based at least in part on values of the approximated indicator function, generating a mesh that represents a surface of the body.
Claims20
A method (780) comprising:
- receiving points representative of at least a portion of a surface of a multi-dimensional geobody (782);
- partitioning the points (784);
- computing smooth compactly supported basis functions based at least in part on differential surface areas associated with the partitioning of the points (786);
- approximating an indicator function for a body based at least in part on the computed basis functions (788);
- and
- based at least in part on values of the approximated indicator function, generating a mesh that represents a surface of the body (790).
A system (250) comprising:
- a processor;
- memory operatively coupled to the processor;
- and
- one or more modules (270) that comprise processor-executable instructions stored in the memory to instruct the system to
- receive a point representative of at least a portion of a surface of a multi-dimensional geobody (783);
- associate the point with partitioned points (785);
- compute smooth compactly supported basis functions based at least in part on differential surface areas associated with the partitioning of the points (787);
- approximate an indicator function for a body based at least in part on the computed basis functions (789);
- and
- based at least in part on values of the approximated indicator function, generate a mesh that represents a surface of the body (791).
One or more computer-readable storage media comprising computer-executable instructions to instruct a computer to:
- receive seismic data of a volume of a geologic environment that comprises a geobody (583);
- render information to a display based at least in part on the seismic data (585);
- receive input to select a point associated with a surface of the geobody based at least in part on the information rendered to the display (587);
- generate a mesh based at least in part on the selected point (589);
- receive input to select another point associated with the surface of the geobody based at least in part on the information rendered to the display (591);
- and
- generate an updated mesh based at least in part on the selected points (593).
