Abstract
A processor has: a power table including a plurality of power control registers each rewritably storing power control information; a condition determiner for rewritably storing plurality of operating conditions (e.g., a comparison address to be compared with the program counter) and determining which one of the plurality of operating conditions is satisfied by a current operation of the processor so as to supply an index signal to select one of the plurality of power control registers based on the determination; and a voltage/clock controller for controlling the power consumption in a control object circuit block according to the power control information in one of the power control registers that is selected by the index signal.

1-12. (canceled)
A power control method for controlling an amount of power to be consumed in a processor, the method comprising the step of:
- controlling the amount of power to be consumed in the processor according to information associated with an executed instruction, wherein
- the processor includes a memory,
- the amount of power to be consumed in the processor is controlled according to power control information of the memory, the memory being selected in accordance with the information associated with the executed instruction, and
- the power control information includes block information for specifying at least one circuit block to be subjected to power control, and first voltage information representing a magnitude of a power supply voltage to be supplied to the control circuit block.
