Fluid-tightly sealable sampling device

A fluid-tightly sealable sampling device for analysis of one or more substances in a fluid flow passing through the sampling device, the sampling device having an inlet end and an outlet end, the sampling device comprising:

• a hollow filter holder having at least one receiving slot formed therein;
• a filter adapted to be provided with one or more reagents for adsorption of and reaction with one or more substances in the fluid flow;
• a gasket provided with at least one projection engaged with the at least one receiving slot in the filter holder;
• a first external cap detachably connectable with the filter holder via a distance piece in a fluid-tight way;
• and
• a second external cap detachably connectable with the outlet end of the sampling device in a fluid-tight way,
• wherein a bottom surface of the gasket abuts a top surface of the filter device, and a top surface of the gasket abuts a lower edge surface of the distance piece, and
• wherein the first external cap is locked to the filter holder with a first sealing connection in such a way that forces only axial in relation to the fluid flow direction are exerted by the gasket on the filter device during assembling and handling of the sampling device.

A method for an improved measurement of a fluid flow for analysis of one or more substances, wherein

• a) a fluid-tightly sealable sampling device according to any one of the preceding claims is provided at a measurement site;
• b) a first external cap and a second external cap are detached from respective ends of the sampling device;
• c) the fluid flow is calibrated by drawing it into a calibration flow inlet in an upper end of a calibration nozzle of the sampling device, through the sampling device, and out from a fluid exit in a lower end of a filter holder of the sampling device during a predetermined period of time,
• d) the calibration nozzle thereafter is detached from the sampling device;
• e) the fluid flow to analyze is drawn into a sampling device fluid inlet, through the sampling device, and out from the fluid exit during a predetermined period of time, wherein said one or more substances react with one or more reagents immobilized in the sampling device;
• f) the first external cap and the second external cap thereafter are attached to the respective ends of the sampling device in a fluid-tight way;
• and
• g) an amount of said one or more substances having reacted with said one or more reagents in the sampling device is determined.
